JOURNAL TURNING

Our PL3000 Lathe is specifically designed for re-turning large diameter shafts and roll journals in-situ by mounting directly to the work piece and rotating around the shaft. A Bearing Journal can be re-furbished by either machining the journal OD smaller and shrink fitting a sleeve onto it, followed by final machining to the original size or by a weld build up on the shaft and then machine to the original size - all without dismantling your equipment to get the defective part out and transport to a machine shop.

The machine bolts onto a minimum shaft diameter of 100mm up to a maximum diameter of 285mm and has a standard turning reach of 405mm.

This service can eliminate hours of equipment dismantling.
